Pet Safe Indoor Plants

The key to pets and plants is to try and train your cat or dog not to consume the plants. Some plants are toxic to both us and our pets, we are generally smarter not to eat them.
While houseplants have the ability to add just an amazing vibe to our homes many species can be toxic to pets if they decide to eat a leaf or two. Luckily for us, there are a number of plants that are safer for your pet. It’s important to mention that ingestion of any plant can cause an upset stomach in pets. If your cat or dog munched on your plant, there is a chance it might cause some vomiting or diarrhea.
1. Calatheas
Calatheas aren't the easiest plants to grow, but they're ideal for pet owners. Beautiful leaves with intricate patterns and intriguing shapes, leaves that close at night and reopen in the morning.
A few of our favourites are Calathea Furry Feather,Calathea Makoyana Peacock, Calathea Orbifolia and of course Calathea Ornata.
2. Pileas
The Pilea species is also generally considered to be safe. These plants are an excellent choice if you have a furry friend running around the house that likes to nibble on your houseplants.
A few of our favourites are Pilea Peperomioides, Pilea Cadierei and Pilea Involucrata
3. Peperomia
The Peperomia family as a whole is deemed non-toxic. You'll want to collect them all because there are so many cute kinds to display on your windowsill, desk, or table.
A few of our favourites are Peperomia Watermelon, Peperomia Moonlight and Peperomia Rosso.
4.Spider Plants
The spider plant is easy to grow indoors and great news tough. It's a favourite among pet and plant owners. Spider plants are also excellent air purifiers, so they can assist in the removal of toxins from your home too.
5. Parlour Palm
The Parlour Palm is a pet-safe plant grows tall and elegantly in indirect light and tolerates shadier conditions. Great for beginners as they are fairly low maintenance.
